The Hitachi CP-X809 XGA is designed for installation purposes in corporate and educational establishments. It has a brightness of 5,000 ANSI lumens and 1000:1 contrast ratio. As it uses inorganic LCD panels, which have a higher resistance to light, colours remain brighter for longer and the operational life of the projector is extended.

The projector can be fitted with four optional lenses, from an ultra short throw ideal for rear projection to a Tele zoom, for projecting from the rear of an auditorium. There is a facility to shift the lens up and down or left to right.

The CP-X809's by utilising Hitachi's hybrid filter technology, the CP-X809's helps maintenance period is extended. Lamp replacement is easily accomplished, as the access plate is on the top of the projector, so when ceiling mounted is easily accessible, as is the side mounted filter.

The networking capabilities of the CP-X809, using Hitachi’s proprietary PJMan software, enables users to manage and diagnose faults on a number of projectors from a remote location. In the event of a problem or routine maintenance for a projector, an email will automatically be sent. Projectors can be remotely scheduled to switch on and off, thereby saving costs.

Security has not been overlooked and the projector has a number of special features. A heavy chain can be attached to the security bar and there is also a Kensington slot to attach a cable and padlock. The projector also has a Transition detector, which is triggered if it is moved from it's normal position and renders the projector inoperable until a PIN code is entered.
