After triumphant launches in the UK at BVE (Broadcast Video Expo) and the Gadget Show, the United Keys OLED Display Keyboard is now available from Quadrant Digital Solutions.
The United Keys OLED keyboard and keypad devices allow the use of symbols on keys to execute tasks that can change to match interaction in various applications and states. The keyboard and keypad layer structure can change in a dynamic and abstract manner, such that applications can use the full functionality of the device without caring about hardware details.
The Display Key Manager (DKM) loads and provides command layers for applications that do not interface with the devices. The DKM tracks focus changes in a windowing system and can set the layer shown to match the application that has focus. Each application can thus call up a layer without caring about other applications.
To demonstrate the benefits of interactivity, United Keys have created two products employing OLED display technology.
These products are easy to set up and can store hundreds of commands, in virtually any format needed. When paired with visual identifiers (images or text), the benefits of reduced memorization and errors can be significant.
